Tangle Mine

leave a comment »

There’s a device sync cord upstairs that looks suspiciously like the camera cord I keep losing.

But I never mistake the upstairs one as being mine. It must be Kelly’s.

This one’s mine. It’s easy to identify. Mine is always the one that wanders around on my nightstand looking for other cords to mate with.

Nightstand Nightmare

nightstand nightmareThe tangle of cords I’ve currently been using. As retrieved from my nightstand this morning. I did not place them on the nightstand that way when I closed up last night. Nor encourage them to behave like this. Like, what exactly does that flash drive string have in mind?

Surely if we could figure out the complex physics of this process, we could probably use it as a lethal weapon to defeat the terrorists.

Tangled Up In Chores

leave a comment »

I plugged in the steam cleaner to start today’s chores with the foyer rug, then started back on a detour to get my Zen for background sounds. I did step high to try navigating over the steam cleaner’s cord; but I swear, it jumped up after me, striking like a snake, catching my heel and then looping around over itself and in between my toes to trap me and trip me!

Heating Pad Tangle

leave a comment »

The white cord belongs to the heating pad, which only last night was plugged into the end slot of the power strip on my side of the bed so I could work some heat into the muscle I pulled in my back a few days ago. The security cord and power cord for Harry were already in place at the time, and haven’t been touched since I plugged the heating pad in. My home laptop was also already plugged in, but all I’ve done is lift the laptop from the side of the bed when I wanted to use it, then place it back where it was when done.

I swear, even if I wanted to practice my knot skills for a boy scout merit badge, this one would be beyond me: I would not know how to wind the heating pad or laptop in and around and back in such a manner as to produce this chaos. No matter. Cords always know how to do it on their own, without assistance.

HP Trio

This is why I usually keep Harry’s network cable, security cord, and power adapter in separate pockets of my computer case. As demonstrated today when I used the smaller internal laptop case to carry the bare necessities to a daylong meeting, the three cannot be trusted together.

Zen Made Simple

zen made simple

Several earbud sets and two different cables for plugging my Zen Vision:M into my Blue Bug’s radio demonstrate how simple digital music can be to listen to.

Moving my Sunday afternoon computer activities out to the kitchen for a bit. So I unplug the laptop, pick up a few things along with the laptop and its power supply, and head through the living room.

No cord can just be left on its own for a single instant, can it.
